Washington, DC attorney Jack Olender bids bye, bye to the DC flag he commissioned emblazoned with "No Taxation Without Representation." Olender said, "Hopefully, we won't need this flag soon and it can be put away as an emblem of a bad time in the District of Columbia, when we had no vote in the U.S. Congress."Olender commissioned the flag in the hopes it would be the prototype for flags to be flown from all D.C. government buildings and public school buildings. Although he offered funds to make it possible, the plan was never adopted. It has been on display at the entrance to his downtown law offices since July 4, 2002.

A long time proponent of D.C. voting rights, Attorney Olender was also involved in the campaign to put the slogan on motor vehicle tags.
