Choosing a team-playing real estate agent

Abstract:
Dear Ms. Mortgage Maven, I am a first-time home buyer and I am looking for a real estate agent to represent me. I was wondering what your opinion is of real estate teams and if it is better to use a team of realtors or just one realtor....

Here is a more comprehensive list of questions to ask http://www.relocationadvisorsgroup.com/hire.htm

Note that it is not good enough to just hire a buyer's agent. They should be an exclusive buyer agent (per Suze Orman, Money Magazine, Consumer Reports etc.)

That means that they and their company never list properties for sale. Regular buyer agents can get into "dual agency" conflict of interest situations - not a good thing for a buyer.

You can find a true buyer agent at www.naeba.org -- the National Assn of Exclusive Buyer Agents
