Carol Paterick says when the idea came to her to start her own web development business it raised the hair on her arms. " I was in Rite Aid and saw the PC magazine cover that said 'WWW is coming'. After reading the article she saw how the world would be changing and considered the business change. Paterick, the owner of Ceeme.com, was already in desktop publishing firm and in 1996 decided to make the switch to electronic publishing.

Ceeme.com is woman-owned and operated. In this male-dominated industry Ceeme.com is a member of the Minority Business Enterprise. "This business is amazing because the sky is the limit; what you think, can happen," adds Paterick. She loves having a small business and relishes working with other entrepreneurs. "I've noticed that while working with small businesses things work a lot smoother and clearer," Paterick said.

With the ability to work in the home or on the go, Paterick doesn't have the overhead costs like big web development firms. " I am happy to be in a business where I am able to give back to the community," she said. Paterick also developed the Web site for her hometown, the Portage Area Historical Society and for the Portage, Pa., Station Museum.

Although helping other small businesses and nonprofit organizations to promote, market and advertise Ceeme.com only advertises through word of mouth.

Paterick has no plans to change anything in the near future. Ceeme.com always welcomes new clients. Business is quite steady and keeps Paterick busy - and she plans to keep it that way.
