People facing foreclosure in need of assistance and anyone concerned about keeping their home are invited to attend a free foreclosure prevention workshop on November 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Sligo Middle School in Silver Spring.

The Prince George's County Council introduced CB-83-2008, a legislation requiring owners of foreclosed residential homes to register their property with the Department of Environmental Resources. Failure to register or maintain an unoccupied property could result in stiff fines and penalties.
