"From his work with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., to delivering the benediction for President Barack Obama, Rev. Lowery's leadership and sacrifice has helped to change the face of America. A true visionary, almost 20 years ago he had build and host the SCLC website. We honor him by making sure millennials understand why – as Dr. Lowery says – voting is not just a sacred right, it's a moral obligation."

Influential thought leaders confirmed to attend include: Congresswoman Corrine Brown (D-FL); Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, Congressman George "G. K." Butterfield (D-NC); Assistant Democratic Leader, Congressman James Clyburn (D-SC); Congressman David Scott (D-GA); civil and woman's rights leader, Melanie L. Campbell; civil rights attorney, Barbara Arnwine; president of Women Flying High, Rita Jackson Samuels, and civil rights leader and former presidential candidate, Rev. Jesse Jackson.

"It's an honor to celebrate those who fought for our right to vote, the hard-working individuals getting people to the polls, and most importantly, voters." said Ryan N. Boyer, business manager for Laborer's District Council of Philadelphia and Vicinity and sponsor of the watch part.

“Recognizing our past contributions is a great way to get fired up to go out and mobilize voters. This election will determine America's direction on critical issues like livable wages and safeguarding the power of labor unions to protect workers. Working together we can make history again.”

The 2016 DNC Watch Party will take place 7:30 p.m.-12:30 p.m. in the ballroom of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Hall on Penns Landing, 1301 S Christopher Columbus Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19147.
