Virginia State held Bowie State to a season-low 27 percent shooting from the field and upset the 19th ranked Bulldogs 67-57. Kenny Mitchell and Ibn Rassoull led the Trojans in scoring with 19 points each. The Bowie State loss was also the Bulldogs' lowest point total since February 10, 2011 at Elizabeth City State.

Virginia State went on an 8-2 run in the final 2:48 to pull the Trojans within four (32-28) by halftime.

Rassoull scored five of Virginia State's first second half points to close the Trojans deficit to 35-33. Rassoull made a pair of free throws to shift the advantage over the visitors' side of the scoreboard.

Bowie State struggled from the field in the second half, making just 9-of-36 (25 percent), 2-of-18 behind the 3-point line (11 percent).

Clark was the only Bulldogs player to reach double figures, scoring 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting.

Bowie State will wrap-up the regular season at home February 25 in a non-conference game against Washington Adventist University. Compiled from BSU SID
